The Sunnyside Gardens Preservation Alliance was founded in 2003 and is dedicated to the preservation, history, and vitality of the Sunnyside Gardens National Register Historic District. We have been honored to receive the Historic Districts Council’s Grassroots Preservation Award (2007), the Queens Civic Congress’s Preservation Achievement Award (2008), a New York City Council Citation (2008), and the State of New York Certificate of Recognition (2008).

See the History and Preservation pages for descriptions of our ongoing programs. In addition, we have donated historic materials to Columbia University, Cornell University, the New York Public Library, the Archives @ Queens Library, and we continue to explore further archives and avenues for preserving Sunnyside Gardens’ history.
Sustaining financial support for this site and our programs has come from the Clarence S. Stein Institute, Cornell University; the New York City Council, Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer; New York State, Assembly Members Margaret M. Markey and Catherine T. Nolan; the New York Landmarks Preservation Foundation; and a host of small contributors.
Donations, which are not tax deductible, may be made by credit card or PayPal, or with a check payable to “Sunnyside Gardens Preservation Alliance.”
